Pop talent of the year, Maaike, is the winner of the popular talent show "So You Wanna Be A Popstar" broadcast by Dutch television company SBS.

In 2007, 20-year-old Maaike Jansen scored a big top 2 hit with "Don't Look For Me" which was seven weeks at number two in the Dutch charts, only pipped to the number one spot by an established Dutch artist.

Maaike Jansen received national attention with her "goose-bump" rendition of the song "Lost" by Anouk. She excels as a singer with a warm and mature voice. If you didn't know better, you'd think you were listening to the voice of an established top artist from the American scene. Maaike not only lends her silky vocals to well known songs, she also writes her own material.

Maaike sings sensitive ballads but she can also rock the house with raunchy pop songs. It is no surprise that the public and the jury voted her the winner of "So You Wanna Be A Popstar".

Maaike is presently working with two brilliant English producers on her new album scheduled to be released later this year.
