Biography Maaike Jansen
Pop talent of the Year, winner of the popular talent contest ‘So You Wannabe a Pop star’ on Dutch television; a smashing appearance on stage. Three great features for Maaike.
Maaike Jansen, at only 19 years of age, who scored a hit single in 2007 with: Don’t Look for Me. It was number 2 on the Dutch charts for no less than 7 weeks.
As a singer, she excels with a warm and grown up sound, if you did not know better, you hear in her numbers the ripe and balanced voice of an American top vocalist.
Maaike Jansen can add the right touch to a sensitive ballad but can also get a young audience swinging. It was not for nothing, both audience and professional judges were so very positive.
In the meantime, Maaike has let go of the Pop star image. In 2008, there was the release of the upbeat single ‘Everything I’ve got’. This number, produced by Nando Eweg, could also be found in the charts for weeks. And ofcourse not to forget a beautiful ballad ‘Hold me Forever’. Maaike wrote this song together with a top bass player from Holland.
Not only records put Maaike in the spotlight. Throughout the country, she could be admired on stage, for instance at the ‘Millionaire Fair’ and the Miss Universe Pageant, here she accompanied herself on the piano. She was also a guest performer at a Gerard Joling concert in Ahoy Rotterdam in front of an audience of 20,000, and she shared the stage with Jeroen van de Boom at his concert in the Heineken Music Hall for an audience of 10,000 people.
She also performed abroad at exclusive locations in France, Turkey, Switzerland and Monaco.
Richer of the experiences and performances, Maaike is now further professionalising her singing career.
At the moment she is working on a new album together with top writers from the US and the UK. Release November 2010.
